This paper will document the development of a pedagogy of liberation within the evolving freedom struggle of African Americans with particular emphasis on the model of Malcolm X and Lucius Walker as a prototype of the "new man." The paper's temporal focus will be the period 1968 through 2010. International solidarity and especially the role of Cuba in the development of the African American pedagogy of liberation will be hghlighted.
