Descripción

Dr García–García’s research seeks sustainable solutions to today’s emission control and energy production challenges. He proposes an alternative way to conduct research on heterogeneous reaction engineering by focusing on overcoming three major challenges in current continuous processes; 1) old-fashioned packet bed reactors limitations, 2) constraints of space in plant design and development, and 3) poor materials performance via the development of a intensify process that uses a multifunctional hollow fibre reactor. In the last decade, Dr García–García’s research group has designed and developed a variety of multifunctional hollow fibre reactors, which have allowed the integration of multi-processes in a single device. During his presentation, Dr García–García will present the key role of multifunctional hollow fibre reactors in today’s energy and emission control. The integration of multi-process in a single hollow fibre reactor enables the intensification of the overall process, making possible for instance on-board hydrogen production in vehicles and retrofitting of carbon capture system in steam reforming plants.
