A systematic study on the electrocaloric effect, pyroelectric response and energy storage properties has been carried out in Pb1-3/2xLaxZr0.60Ti0.40O3 ferroelectric ceramics, where x = 8 and 10 at%, obtained by the traditional ceramic sintering method. The ferroelectric response, obtained from the hysteresis loops (P-E curve) was performed at different temperatures from which the energy storage density, the efficiency and the electrocaloric response were analyzed. The pyroelectric behavior of the studied samples was analyzed by static method, from the temperature dependence of the pyroelectric current. A significative influence of the lanthanum concentration on the studied parameters and the hysteresis loops was observed. Both compositions showed excellent properties, suggesting their use for energy storage devices, pyroelectric sensors and/or technologies based on electrocaloric devices.
