Descripción
The development of next generation batteries is crucial to meeting Net Zero goals. Solid-state batteries promise improved performance and safety compared to conventional Li-ion cells, but their development is hindered by complex solid-solid interfaces and degradation processes during cycling. In this talk, I will present our recent efforts in this area on three related fronts: (i) solid-state electrochemical mechanics, (ii) design of scalable electrolytes and (iii) characterisation of disordered energy materials. The importance of combined experimental and modelling approaches will be highlighted.
