Descripción

In the last time several group focus their research in the synthesis and application of gold (AuNPs), zinc oxide (ZnO NPs) and iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs). Magnetite or maghemite result an attracting in the research for drug delivery, magnetic separation of biomolecules such as DNA, uses them as negative or positive contrast agents, as catalyst, for treatment of cancer disease, etc. Different synthetic methods of IONPs were developed such as thermal decomposition, coprecipitation, and others. The increase interest of IONPs could be due to the scalability of the preparation, magnetic properties and good biocompatibility. The control of distribution size and shape in order to control in IONPs stability is one of the most important factors for IONPs applications. The synthetic method selected and the surface functionalization play an important role in the final use of nanomaterial. AuNPs, ZnONPs and IONPs were synthetized in the Bioinorganic Laboratory in order to apply as a sensor, diagnosis or magnetic separation. The modified NPs were characterized by TEM, XRD, FT-IR and VSM.
